My Favourite Christian Podcasts

Updated: Aug 23

Hi everyone! Today I thought I’d share about my favourite Christian podcasts. Since getting into podcasts around 2019, I’ve become a fan of them! I enjoy listening to them in short 20-minute chunks while I’m brushing my teeth or preparing for bed. That way, I can easily absorb any practical tips and information and also get a dose of conviction or encouragement, without feeling overwhelmed by over-consuming information and not knowing where to start.

Without further ado, here are some of my favourites:

Verity by Phylicia Masonheimer

I discovered this podcast when I first started reading her blog, which is also great! I’m also subscribed to her lovely newsletter, the Conlectio, which covers everything from Christian topics, homeschooling, theology, hospitality, and much more. Her podcast, Verity, is great for me because while the episodes are short (15-30 minutes usually), they pack a powerful punch. They are full of church history, thorough Biblical knowledge and analysis, and God’s truth. Phylicia covers a range of subjects from marriage and modesty to fasting and discernment, all while grounding her podcast in Biblical truth.

EncounterPodcast; Abide Daily Meditation; Christian Meditation Podcast with Chaplain Jared

These are less of a traditional podcast and more of a Lectio Divina/Christian meditation podcast. They are great for when you want to slow down, be still, and dive deep into a couple verses. They have space for silent meditation, contemplation, and reflection on God’s word and last 15-20 minutes.

Femina by Nancy Wilson

What this podcast lacks in length (it’s extremely brief, think 10 minutes or less and updated weekly) it makes up for in conviction and encouragement! I always walk away from these episodes feeling convicted of sin and/or encouraged to surrender to Jesus and to obey God’s will.

Sheologians

I will be honest, I am not the biggest fan of their opening song (it’s far too aggressively metal for my taste) but the content of this podcast is often telling hard truths. While this is a Christian podcast, it also discusses cultural topics such as feminism and the MeToo movement. I always enjoy listening to the hosts just talk about their personal lives at the beginning of the episodes, though I know many find that annoying. Even if I don’t agree with them on everything, I always find something new to think about when I listen to their show.

Prayer in a Noisy World

This is a podcast started by the founder of Val Marie Paper, Valerie Woerner, and her mission is to help people pray more. This podcast definitely does that for me (I have her Signature prayer journal too and am loving it so far)! It’s made up of several episode types: short guided prayers and interviews with Christians such as Phylicia Masonheimer and Ruth Chou Simons. Her interviews are always honest and encourage me to pray more and I love the guided prayers she has on several topics, from a prayer for morning/night to a prayer for one’s children.

Set Apart Podcast with Leslie Ludy

After diving into Leslie’s books, I thought Imd jump into her podcast! Full of actionable, practical, and ruthless encouragement for Christian women and girls, Leslie does not sugarcoat or tell us that we’re perfect just the way we are. Instead, she dives into examples of bold Christian women who lived fearlessly in obedience to God and encourages us to do the same.

Honourable Mentions:

Revive Our Hearts by Nancy DeMoss Wogelmuth

Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey

Heart of Purpose with Desiree Siegfried

And that’s a wrap! I hope you guys found one or two podcasts to listen to that will keep you motivated during your walk with God. Of course, nothing can replace reading the Bible or praying for/by yourself, but I’ve found podcasts are great tools and resources that can help you in that.
